There is lots of Baez songs at http://baez.woz.org/
but it only includes songs she rote. so that particular song isn't there.

Seeing as noone else is jumping in, let me try a different tack. I mentioned the Baez album as that is all I could find on the net regading the song. I heard it from a mariachi group in California some years ago. Now, before folks jump in, I have checked all the mariachi web sites. No luck. Does anyone know the words to this song? I took the lyrics you`re asking for just five minutes ago directly from a long play record titled "Gracias a la Vida" (Thanks To Life). It was a little bit difficult because of
the bad Spanish spelling of Joan but finally here you have it. Hope you enjoy it together with the wonderful voice of Joan, one of my favourite folk singers! Bye, bye
