Subject: HARMONY program registration From: pavane Date: 02 Aug 01 - 04:17 PM To all those who have downloaded my program HARMONY. I am now accepting registrations (donate whatever you feel it's worth) via PAYPAL/credit card on the Music page at my web site. All those who register will receive the new 32-bit version when it is ready ("Real Soon Now"). This has much improved import of abc, handles bigger input files, and can use long file names. Many other improvements and bug fixes are also included, and some major enhancements are planned soon. |

Subject: RE: HARMONY program registration From: pavane Date: 03 Aug 01 - 10:53 AM Yes indeed, but the amount the banks charge to change foreign cheques/checks, it's hardly worth it. Minimum of about $8 I think, last time. If you would like to post cash and take the risk it gets lost in post, OK. I will send you my postal address in a private mail. Be sure to let me know what enhancements you would like, and I will probably tell you why I can't do it... But I will do my best! |

Subject: RE: HARMONY program registration From: pavane Date: 03 Aug 01 - 11:13 AM I am not actually sure whether you need a credit card to use PAYPAL. I think it can be set up to take money directly from a bank account. But I did need a card in order to verify my identity in the first place, and set up my account, so I guess perhaps you do. |

Subject: RE: HARMONY program registration From: Uncle Jaque Date: 03 Aug 01 - 11:25 PM Sure; I'll try it. Currently using "Melody Assistant" from MYRIAD Software (France), which is a pretty sophisticated music composition and editing program for the $15 registration. It seems that we've been using that for gosh... going on 3 years now, with regular free upgrades and prompt, personal Tech Support from the Writers as well as a User's forum. Although a generally good program, I've been having trouble with it lately; it may be a systems compatability issue. Anyway I only use about 10% of all the bells and whistles attending Melody Assistant (They also offer a bigger "Harmony Assistant" program - no propriatory issues with the name, eh?) so a more "Industrial grade" music software may be just what I'm looking for.. we shall see! Thanks for the tip! |

Subject: RE: HARMONY program registration From: pavane Date: 05 Aug 01 - 04:19 AM I don't know about issues with the name. Versions of mine have been available on COMPUSERVE and elsewhere since 1995 (DOS only, though). Remember that the original function of my program was to add chords to a tune - all the other functions have been added to improve usability. |
