Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Annan Waters From: Boab Date: 17 May 01 - 02:34 AM Some fella this Nic Jones! Maybe I'm giving away my antiquity, but Nic Guested at our club in Hexham once or twice 'way, 'way back in the sixties [last century!!]. Besides the back-and-forth badinage about Rabbie Burns, two things stick in my memory; one was his rendition of " Barbara Allen"---the closest version to the Scottish one that I'd heard. The other was my first time of hearing , from any artiste, "the Lochmaben Harper". [Don't ask me for lyrics!] Quite a repertoire, quite a personality, quite a voice. Boab |
