Hi,

I'm getting married in a couple of weeks to time and my new surname will be Gordon. I'm looking for the lyrics for a song which I think is called A Gordon's For Me.. It refers to the Gordon Highlanders Regiment in Scotland and my great-grandfather used to sing it to me when I was young (He passed away a few years ago)..

Thanks

Pauline

Can't help with the verses, but the chorus goes:-
A Gordon for me, a Gordon for me
If you're no a Gordon, you're nae use tae me.
The Black Watch are braw, the Seaforth and a'
But a cocky wee Gordon's the pride of them a'.

I notated the tune for this a couple of weeks ago, but don't think that I've sent it yet. My source was Penguin English Folk Songs.... or was it? I'll find it and post in the next few hours. Regards, John

Pauline - welcome, and congratulations on you impending nuptuals. Can't help but ask whether you'll need to change your server after the wedding? *BG*

I was a bit too slow to realise that you are changing brand-names from one type of spirit to another.
