The song gives me pictures of places I've seen so often here in Northern California. She really captures the wonder of this place.
Now that I live in the Sierra foothills, I realize that I can't think of any good Kate Wolf Sierra songs. She lived nearer to the coast - maybe that's why.

I used to go to the Sonoma Folk Festival at the Luther Burbank Center - it was a very good festival and it brought together a lot of fond memories of Kate.

On the Kate Wolf home page, they sell a two volume songbook which I think has most of her songs. There's a wealth of other great info on that site including short clips of many of her songs and her comments on some of them.
