Paddy's Green Shamrock Shore is the same tune, not same lyrics (not a translation)

see also the Green Fields of Gweedore thread. Green Fields of Gaoth Dobhair is an entirely different song, but a translation (by the author, Prionsias Ó Maonaigh)is included in the thread

I've done the best I could to crosslink interrelated threads. See the crosslinks above - I'm not sure whether these all fit together, or not. When you deal with two languages, it makes it even more confusing.

It is indeed one of several songs with that title. Have a look in the Digital Tradition (DT search box) under that title. there are a number of versions around.

There's a beautiful tune in "The Irish Mandolin" Tutor book called Gleanntan Glas Gaoith Dobhairn. Someone sang me some lyrics which may be called "Shamrock Shore" or something similar. Any ideas out there?
