Subject: RE: will there be no _____ in heaven From: Kara Date: 01 May 06 - 05:28 PM The version of this song I know was reputedly writen by a gypsy called Georgey Biddel who I met in a pub at Stow on the Wold horse fair in the mid 80s The word are very similar to Ditas but with some of the words in Romany. Where did you get this version from Dita? The song was taken up by New age Travellers and the words reformed to be relevant to the struggle against the Thatcherist police state to maintain the rights to hold a free festival at stongehenge. Will there be any convey in heaven is there a heavenly national trust saying you can't have your festival here boy park your bus up and leave it to rust. a true folk song... Where do you think |

Subject: Lyr Add: NO DISAPPOINTMENT IN HEAVEN From: Richard Brandenburg Date: 02 May 06 - 12:36 AM Here's a bunch of stuff there won't be in Heaven. Learned this from a recording of Bob Wills & His Texas Playboys; I've seen it in some old songbooks as well. NO DISAPPOINTMENT IN HEAVEN No disappointment in Heaven No weariness sorrow or pain No hearts that are bleeding or broken No song in a minor refrain No clouds on the earthly horizon Will ever be seen in the sky Where all will be sunshine and gladness With never a sob nor a sigh I'm bound for that beautiful city The Lord has prepared for his own Where all redeemed of all ages Sing glory around the white throne Sometimes I get homesick for heaven And the glory my eyes shall behold Oh, what joy there will be When my Saviour I see In that beautiful city of gold |
