Subject: Tune Req: Dirty Old Town and need some more notes From: GUEST,newfiejeff Date: 25 Aug 03 - 09:22 PM I have been playing Dirty Old Town in the key of G on the mandolin for a year or so. I have heard it on the radio and it seems so much more notes to what I play. I have the sheet music and that is the way I play it but what I heard sounds so much nicer. Can anyone help me out? Jeff |

Subject: RE: Tune Req: Dirty Old Town and need some more notes From: RichM Date: 26 Aug 03 - 10:40 AM Probably what you are hearing that is "more", is embellishments....extra notes such as hammerons, pulloffs, etc... For instance, steal a bit of time from one of the longer notes, and "hammer-on" from the fret below it -- example: pick the open second string (A string) and hammer-on to the second fret....
