Subject: Lyr Req: Let Us Leave the Town Behind Us From: Joe Offer Date: 01 Aug 26 - 04:48 PM from email: Hello, I have been directed to you by Chat GBT. I was trying to get help in identifying a song we used to sing in the school choir some 70 years ago. Is Mudcat a group that may be able to help me? These are the words I remember : Let us leave the town behind us, Let us take the open road, Where the voice may sing in tune with spring, The heart may shed its load. Where the hawthorn blooms along the hedge, The birds build in the trees, And a nestling breeze blows all the leaves, And all roads reach the sea. I can't remember any of the second verse but of course I remember the tune Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you Robert |
