BACK WATER BLUES Well it rained five days and the sky was dark as night Yes, it rained five days and the sky was dark as night There's trouble in the lowlands tonight. I got up one morning, I couldn't even get out of my door (2x) There was enough trouble to make a poor boy wonder where to go. I went and stood up on a high old lonesome hill (2x) I did all I could to look down on the house where I used to live. It thundered and lighteninged and the wind began to blow (2x) There were thousands of poor people didn't have no place to go.
