2.
Hey, the Haggis o' Dunbar,

Fatharalinkum Feedle.

For to mak this Haggis nice,

They pat in a peck o' lice,
Fatharalinkum, &c.

For to mak this Haggis fat,

They pat in a scabbit cat,
Fatharalinkum Feedle.

There wis a haggis in Dunbar,

quoted from Allan's Tyneside Songs (1891), 57:

For to make the haggish nishe
They put in some brown spishe.
Tarum tickle, tan dum,
To the tune o' tan dum,
Tarum tickle, tan dum.

And to make the haggish fine
They put in a bottle of wine.
Tarum tickle, tan dum,
To the tune o' tan dum,
Tarum tickle, tarum tickle tan dum.

DT Lyrics:

In Mudcat MIDIs:
The Haggis of Dunbar (Malcolm notes:The DT file contains four variations of this little piece, from Scotland and Northern England. No mention is made of a tune, but there is a reel of the same name which appeared in The Athole Collection (James Stewart Robertson, 1884). Obviously, I don't know if the tune was ever associated with any of the texts -or with any other- but the coincidence of a rather unusual name does suggest it. Midi made from the notation in that book; the texts fit the "A" part of the music well enough, and it has been necessary only to remove one pickup note from the end of the fourth bar, doubling the duration of the previous note.)
