Susan: Actually, I never thought of the "Lavender Cowboy" song as being an anti-gay slight. I suppose it would have been, back when Lomax picked it up in the dark ages of early Western folksong collecting, but I must have been too naive to recognize it as such. The protagonist was a hero, defending the lady's honor, and all that. He just couldn't grow hair on his chest, hard as he tried. Why the term "Lavender" in the title didn't set off warning signals, I simply can't explain. No Falwell to guide me, I guess. Sandy
