Fortunato: Yes, Baez recorded Jim Waters' tune, and her Ballad Book (is that the title?) even credits him, although Vanguard never honored the copyright. Many people have assumed the tune to be traditional, which I think is a great compliment to Jim Waters. By the way, credit Art Thieme's tune for "Shake Sugaree" to Elizabeth Cotten, although Art did some creative work on the lyrics. That sure is a fun song to sing! Sandy
