_gargoyle Animal Songs (109* d) Lyr Add: BESTIARY (from Burl Ives) 22 Dec 99

It is very hard to imagine that this one is not in the DT...searched but could not find this old classic.

The Bestiary
Key of D
2/4 time

/D/Alliator, Hedgehog, /G?/Anteater, /D/Bear
/A7/Rattlesnake, /D/Buffalo, /E7/Anaconda, /A/Hare.
/D/Bullfrog, Woodchuck, /G/Wolverine, /D/Goose
/A7/Whip-poor-will, /D/Chipmunk, /E7/Jackal /A7/Moose,/D/

Mud-turtle, Whale, Glow-worm, Bat
Salamander, Snail, Maltese cat
Black squirrel, Raccoon, Opossum, Wren.
Red Squirrel, Loon, South Guinea hen.

Polecat, dog, wild otter, rat,
Pelican, hog, dodo, bat,
Eagle, kangaroo, sheep, duck, widgeon,
Conger, armadillo, beaver, seal, pigeon.

Reindeer, blacksnake, ibis, nightingale,
Martin, wild drake, crocodile, quail.
House-rat, touse-rat, white bear, doe,
Chickadee, peacock, bobolink, crow.

This is a REAL doozy to memorize, (harder than "I've Been Everywhere") but it is WELL worth it.

Perfect for a family setting where the performer and audience are comfortable with each other...Because of the simple rhyme scheme the audience begins to anticipate the ending of the couplet....and can be encouraged to shout out (after the first two examples) what they perceive to be the matching word....the singer nods approval or corrects.

This one is a great deal of fun...perfect for your animal shelter setting.

What is your production date?
