MTed, Congratulations. If you are still looking, here's my thoughts. Yes, you can find a decent guitar for under $200. I think your best bet is to just go to stores and play what's available. You should be able to judge for yourself what is a decent guitar. Don't forget "used" as an option. Once you buy one you like, I suggest you take it to a shop for a "set up" unless the place from whence it came says they already did that. For about $40 - $50 you can greatly improve the playability and tone of the guitar. The cheap guitar factories don't expend much time on the "set up". Roger in Baltimore
