In my Scottish family (and standard, I believe, in the auld countrie), Sandy is the diminutive of Alexander. Hence all the Sandy MacTavish jokes. I'm the eighth generation "Sandy" swinging from my father's family tree. My son makes nine, and his son makes ten. Seemed like a nice tradition to carry on. However, Flattop, you are not alone. Often, when Caroline and I show up for a gig, a few people seem to be surprised to discover that we are not a sister act. Sandy
