I don't perform in a band because it is easier. I have performed with groups and one thing no one has mentioned is one very important one. In a group, there is a lot of give and take. However, when all is going right, there are periods of transcendence; a time when you feel as if all of the individuals are connected and are a part of something bigger. I find it difficult to explain, but it is a "high" that is very rewarding. Afterwards, you just stand there and say, "Wow." Sometimes that happens in a jam, but usually it happens in a group that has done a lot of work. Roger in Baltimore
