Carl Sandburg sang:
I'm sad and I'm lonely, My heart it will break. My sweetheart loves another, And I wish I was dead!
Look in his An American Songbag (New York, 1927) at your local library. I assume it's there. Also, it's probably on the recently reissued CD of his early recordings, which I have yet to hear. Can you help, Stewie? You seem to have every folk record ever made.
Sandy (just slightly green with envy)
