Now let me point out to Joe Offer that the first volume of the two "Music of Kentucky" CDs has FOUR (!) cuts of Alfred Karnes, one of the greatest, most powerful hymn-singing folk ever recorded. If you haven't heard him, Joe, you're in for an true awakening! That's a great pair of CDs. I sold a couple of them this afternoon at the Winter hawk Festival, and try to keep a couple on hand all the time. I'll be pushing them at Champlain Valley next weekend, too, along with ALL FOUR volumes of "Times Ain't Like They Used to Be," both volumes of "Hard Times Come Again No More," and both of the wonderful "My Rough and Rowdy Ways." After that, you'll have to try the two volumes of "I Can't Be Satisfied," and the two additional gospel volumes that take up where "How Can I Keep from Singing" left off, namely "The Half Ain't Never Been Told." These are CDs that live on the shelf above my computer, so I can play them whenever I go surfing!
Poor Joe!
