I am separated from my record collection. I'm looking for lyrics to two songs by Sam "Lightnin'" Hopkins. The first is a song with the following lines:
I don't need you woman; I got someone who seems to understand. (2)
Reason I say she understands, she don't keep jumpin' from man to man.
The other song is about his first experience on a jet plane going from New York to Europe. Some of the lines are:
Took a jet from New York City, rode overseas.
I couldn't hear nothin' but that motor, singin' a song back at me.
You know I was scared, just as scared as any man could be.
Didn't know I'd have to ride that jet from New York City, whoa, man, overseas.
I checked Harry's Blues Lyrics on line and a place called "Bourbon" something and came up empty.
I have my fingers crossed (and it will be hard to play the guitar parts that way, so come up with the lyrics, ladies and gentlemen!)
