Karen arrived early this evening, in time to go with us to the Congregational Church on the Green down in Sharon for the Christmas Eve service. Our oldest grandchild, Linnea, was singing a solo in the service (it takes at least that sort of a special event to get this old heathen into such a place). It turned out to be a number of brief readings interspersed with some lovely songs by the small choir and favorite carols sung by everyone. I will confess that I truly enjoyed it.
Karen is feeling pretty well right now. She will be with us for the "family Christmas morning" and the traditional dinner (no broccoli!), but must go home in the late afternoon to prepare for more tests at the hospital on Tuesday. She's doing well, friends, and we are happy she was able to be here with us. She has been our dear friend for more than thirty years and, in fact, was the person who introduced me to the Mudcat.
I hope you all have an equally fine Christmas.
Sandy
