Here is what works for me in putting chords and lyrics together on a Mudcat thread. First, you need some wordprocessor that has a constant space font (each letter taking up the same amount of space). Somebody knows the technical term. You start with the HTML command < pre > (without the spaces (if I put them in here it disappears into the background)).

Type in your lyrics. The chords go in a separate line above the lyrics. Use the space bar to make the space between chords, do not use the "tab" or "indent" keys. At the end of each line of chords and lyrics insert the HTML command < br > (again without the spaces). I type it in once after I have laid out the song and then I copy and paste my way down through each line of the song.

Finish with the command < / pre > (without spaces remember). You can then cut this from your word processor and paste it onto the thread. All of this requires just about all I know about my computer, so it may befuddle you at first.

I use Windows' Notepad for my wordprocessor because it has a simple single space font. My Wordperfect 7.0 seems devoid of that old style font, everything is True Type and they don't work.

I will try to reformat your work, if I get the time. Thanks for all those jazzy chords, they get the feel of the song and my fingers need the exercise.
