I'm not sure that MacColl wrote "D Day Dodgers," but he's the one I first heard sing it. Many brave men may have fallen under that flag, Lonesome, but for a large part of our population it stands, in these latter days, as an emblem of prejudice and segregation. Until it no longer has unpleasant associations for so many, I will oppose flying it over public buildings such as state capitols. Display it with reverence above the graves of the sacrificed, if you will, but don't flaunt it in the face of those for whom its appearance causes pain. Sandy
