I think I requested this last year and did not see a reply. About 10 years ago, I was listening to a DC radio folk program (Lee Michael Dempsey (?) on WAMU). I heard the following song by a female singer whom I believe was from Canada. She had recently published a recording of mothers' songs. It was quite simple and I have used it many times by simply making it a Father's Day song.
Overweight and turning gray. Happy, happy Mother's Day.(2X)
Was it worth it? I don't know. Really isn't much to show.(2X)
Except two little human beings, sweeter than my wildest dreams. (2X)
Repeat first verse.
I want to know who the woman is who wrote the song so I can give her proper credit when I sing it.
