Sure, I lent 'em to him. Ya gotta have faith! Caroline and I were once hitch-hiking from San Diego to New York (1957) and were picked up by a fellow who told us about having picked up a couple some years before. Stopped at a gas station, and when she went to the Ladies, the guy hit our friend in the head and took off with the car. I said, "And you just picked up another couple?" He said, "Sure. I figure it would only happen once in a million times, and it's already happened to me!" Well, I figure Rick's already had enough guitars stolen from him to tilt the odds in my favor. ('Course, I'll pray a lot till they get back home.)

I'm really glad you decided to head down to Rick's gig in Washington. Wear your Mudcat t-shirt! He and I had talked today about you not being there because of previous plans. He'll be as surprised to see you as he will be when Joe O. introduces himself. Have a great time, everyone! I'm plumb jealous.
