At times the singer/songwriter audience blows hot and cold. Seven or eight years ago, you couldn't go to an open mic and not hear some Kate Wolf song. Now, I hardly ever hear her work. There are only four of her songs in the DT.
I suspect there has been some Kate Wolf overkill as well. Some people have heard "Give Yourself to Love" one too many times at song circles. Does every new female singer feel required to sing "The Trumpet Vine"?
As I have said elsewhere, I think Kate wrote some songs that will endure. Others, like "Shining" are mostly romantic fluff.
Just my opinion.
