Nah, Garry, I don't buy it. Too many successful self-taught folks out there. Individual instruction is certainly a successful way to learn, but its cost is often beyond what many can afford. If you aspire to be an accomplished guitarist then investing in individual instruction would be the way to go. I suspect that Annap (who inspired this thread) and others just want to have fun with the instrument. I've taken private lessons and have never been "corrected" so I must have learned something right. Big RiB
