MgtExec,

Welcome to the Mudcat! Boy, do we have what you need! If you go to the main Forum page, there is a list of several links. One is entitled "links". Click on that and you will find all that your heart may desire.

Two sites I will recommend. The first is the On-Line Guitar Archive (OLGA). You can find it at Olga.net. OLGA carries lyrics and guitar tab for popular music (emphasis on Rock and Roll). When you get to the main page, it will tell you they have been closed down. ASCAP feels they are infringing on copyright and have filed suit. However, if you can use the OLGA search engine (over to the left of the page). If you get any hits with a title or artist search it will list several "mirror" sites by geographical location. Some are in other states and some in other countries. If you click on one of them, you are likely to get the song you seek.

If you're talking country (and you were), the happening site is COWPIE at roughstock.com (I think). They are similar to OLGA except the emphasis is clearly on Country and Western, both older and current songs.

Of course there are other links on the Mudcat link page, but you can explore them yourself when you get time.

Finally, the Mudcat updates the DigiTrad Database twice a year, in the Spring and in the Fall. Many song lyrics get posted on the threads in the six month interims. If you go up to that link section again and click on "Forum Search" you will get a search engine to explore the threads. I understand it has been a little uppity and contankerous lately and it may time you out or just not work. I have my best luck searching in the subject" section rather than the "body" section. I am positive the lyrics to Talkin' Candy Bar Blues came up in the last couple of months. If I get time later, I'll search for you.

But it is best to do it yourself. As you explore this website and the other threads you may well be amazed at the humor, discourse and insight exhibited by the Mudcatters.

Enjoy the music!

Roger in Baltimore
