The Road to Nowhere

A D A
There ain't nothing on the road to nowhere
             D A
ain't no signs or trees or billboards on the way
       D A
and I guess that I am headed nowhere
         E7 A
'cos I ain't seen nothing all day.

I lost my best gal down in Dallas
where she went to I can't tell
and I guess this road is headed nowhere
except maybe it's bound for hell

 There ain't.....

It's the longest road I've ever traveled
and the hardest one I'm tellin' you
It's lonely on that road to nowhere
and the color of that road is black and blue

 There ain't.....

If you see me thumbin' on that road to nowhere
don't stop and pick me up along the way
'cos I am sure you're headed somewhere
 and I'm goin' nowhere today

 There ain't.....
