GUEST,Lutz Eikelmann Lonnie Donegan Tribute / Germany (27) RE: Lonnie Donegan Tribute / Germany 17 Aug 03

Dickie Bishop had retired in the late 90s, but has become active again in performing, recording and song-writing. We recorded our first CD "No Other Baby" in July 2000 ( release 2001 ) and Dickie was guest vocalist on my CD "The July Sessions", too, singing quite a few jazz numbers along with Ian Wheeler, Sonny Morris, Ray Smith and my Jazzband.
In 2002 the british label Upbeat released the CD "Sonny Morris & Friends in Germany with Lutz Eikelmann" ( URCD-181 ) which includes the following numbers featuring Dickie Bishop with lead vocals: All The Girls Go Crazy, The Glory Of Love, When You Wore A Tulip, Lord Lord Lord You´ve Sure Been Good To Me and two Skiffle numbers, Gypsy Davy & Keep Your Hands Off Her.
If anybody is interested in the repertory of our NO OTHER BABY - CD, this is it:
01. I Saw The Light
02. Jesse James
03. When I Leave The World Behind ***
04. Keep Your Hands Off Her
05. Gypsy Davy
06. No Other Baby
07. Where Could I Go
08. I Shall Not Be Moved
09. When I Move To The Sky ***
10. Please Remember Me
11. Skip To My Lou
12. Lord, Lord, Lord, You´ve Sure Been Good To Me ***
13. Big Grand Coulee Dam
14. If Those Lips Could Only Speak
15. Gimme More Of That Beer ***

*** All numbers featuring Dickie´s lead vocals, but these *** are not together with my Skiffle group, but with my jazzband.

On May 10th, 2003, Dickie was live on air at Radio Merseyside / UK and some of his recordings of the 50s were broadcasted between the live interviews as well as some of our recordings of 2000, too.
