Greg, spot on, my question was ambiguous, but Malcolm guessed where I was going. Rapaire makes a good point. People make strange anglo/eurocentric statements with out much evidence, not least about the origins and meanings of folk stuff. I was just interested to know if any ceremonial tunes had travelled far and am fascinated by the caribean reference.
