Well, it's a small world. I was just listening to Round the Horne on tape yesterday while I was making supper (got one of the two tape sets from the BBC as a Christmas present one year) and was absolutely dying off, particularly at the Julian and Sandy routine --it was the boarding house venture, taken up by the two of them after their stint as Punch and Judy men fell through when Jules gave the eggnog a thrashing one night and the performance deteriorated into something quite unsuitable for children --Punch ran off with the Hangman and Judy ended up singing risque songs with the Crocodile. Bloody genius... I'm often wished I could get hold of more Round the Horne tapes, but it's a bit expensive to order them overseas. Speaking of folk music, what do people think of Rambling Syd Rumpo?   I mean, he did everything but stick his finger in his ear and go "nyaah", didn't he? It can't have done much for folk music's image.

Well, enough of my ramblings. I shall toddle off and look at that url for BBC 7. Interesting Round the Horne fact: Did you know that if Nelson's column were laid on its side, the top of Nelson's hat would block the entrance to the gents' washroom in Scotland yard??

Cheers,

Isabel
