Julie, The Three John Scotts is a Weatherspoons pub at the corner of Lowgate and Alfred Gelder St. They serve real Ale and generous portions of good food at very reasonable prices, inc. two meals for one price deals. Their Treacle Sponge is especially recommended! The Olde White Harte certainly used to do some good food but it's been a while since I've tried them so I can't comment on price or quality. The Minerva does good grub but it's likely to be busy this weekend! If you like Chinese, the May Sum buffet restaurant opened recently on Saville St (just outside the old town off Queens Gardens). This might be helpful: Virtual Pub Crawl of Hull It's a bit out of date but most of the comments still apply, and the usual suspects can probably answer specific queries.
