Peter Timmerman GENE, I won't go huntin' (4) RE: GENE, I won't go huntin' 05 Aug 97

Becky, no one just contacts Gene. Gene is like the Dalai Lama or the Tooth Fairy. He descends, all knowing, all wise, from time to time, and imparts lyrics and tunes to the rest of us mere mortals. Who can know where he resides?

It reminds me of a joke.

Once upon a time there was a woman who wanted to see the Great High Guru, but she lived in New Jersey. She just wanted to say a few words to him, but she had a hunch he was in Nepal. So she went to her travel agent, and her travel agent said, well it is really expensive, but the woman said, I have to go see the Great High Guru. Anyway, she got on a plane, and went to Northern India. When she got to the Nepal border, the customs people asked her what she wanted, and she said, she was going to talk to the Great High Guru. They all laughed, and said, an old woman like you, it takes weeks to see the guru; there are lineups. etc. Anyway, she gets to the outskirts of the Great high Guru's monastery, high in the mountains. There is an almost endless line. She gets in the line, in spite of discouragement, and cold. After many days, she gets close to the front of the line, and the disciples of the Great High Guru confront her, and tell her that the Great High Guru is very busy, and she can only speak 3 words to him, when she gets to her audience with him. She nods. Finally, she is escorted into the chamber of the Great High Guru, and stands in front of his eminence. She looks at the Great High Guru and says: "Sheldon, come home!"

Yours, Peter
