dear GUEST 08:37am artists do not necessarily control the price. if they're part of a major label, particularly, then the label will always set the price. sure they might make a bad CD but there are plenty ways to hear a CD before buying it, downloading being one of them. Don't blame the artists for being the ones setting the prices, because unless they're independent artists chances are they have no say whatsoever. And if they are independent, nine times out of ten they don't have much of an income from music so charging £5 for each CD would mean it'd take a few years just to pay off the recording and printing costs. frankly i don't see how you it's anyone else's fault but your own if you buy a CD you don't like.
