Walrus - which other side of the pond are you referring to? It really depends on where you are! Here in the U.S. we refer to ice hockey as hockey - field hockey is something high school girls play and it goes no further. From what I've seen, rugby is no where near as fast paced game as soccer, hockey or basketball. Football has way too many time outs and wasted time setting up plays for my taste.
