Second & third lines of first verse should be: "of pride and of milk I am full/ but it's sad to relate that my lacteal state"

And it's a cast iron syringe, not a plastic one, both for historical veracity and for added pathos.

I learned it from the late John Knight donkeys ago and he reckoned it appeared in the Croydon Advertiser in the 40's.
