I've tried a bunch of those $150-$250 pernambuco bows, and I was not impressed. However, Shar and other online sellers will let you have them on trial. You get to try them out for a few days and return it if you don't like it. I think Sorcha is right - a gift certificate is a better way to go. Or if they buy from someone with a good selection, with the understanding that it's a gift and you will need a longer evaluation period.
