It was so cold up here in Eastport, Maine for Dimpy's funeral yesterday. We all filtered into the funeral home around 2:30 PM for the open casket service and listened way too long to the minister, but were heartened to hear about Alvin "Dimpy" Kinney from people who really knew and loved him. We proceded with headlights on through the empty streets of Eastport's downtown to the burying ground on the east side of Eastport. It was so cold (-8 below),seasmoke on the water, that even the military contingent who saluted Dimpy did not take off their caps when they lowered him in the ground. Dimpy was always in a hurry. That minister went on way too long. We all went back to the Dimpy's house to warm up after the graveside service. It was so cold that our car blew a seal in the tubo charger. We all made merry and then went out later for supper at the Mexican resturant in town that was so cold we had to dance and dance some more to keep warm. Dimpy would have been pleased.
