Instead of getting into micrometers and engineering instruments, maybe spend the money on a few different sets of strings, and the time playing music. Be brave,try for the heaviest gauge you and the guitar can handle. Make that aluminium resonator,resonate! As a rule of thumb, I think you'll find nickle strings mellow,bronze bright ,and phosphers last longer.But then I'm only a tenor banjo player! I hope you find the strings you're looking for and they're readily available at your local store. Have fun! Banjo
