To Joe, Ron or any other of our American `catters".
Our "Daily Telegraph" of Feb. 17 contained an article by Vicki Woods(page 20) that suggests that American sensitivity to certain expressions results in you shying away from using the word "cock" in daily conversation. Hence your usage of "roach", "rooster", and avoidance of Anglo words like "stopcock" and "cockle" (baby clam) etc.
Do you see this article as pretentious nonsense and journalistic licence or is there a grain of truth in it?
