The fundamentalists both Christians and Jews are playing a terrible cat and mouse game in Israel. The Fundamentalist (so-called) Christians are supporting Zionism because they say it is prophesied in the Gospels that Israel will prevail over their enemies. They say Jesus will return to smite dead anyone who doesn't believe in him including Jews. Jews don't believe in Jesus. They believe in the Messiah but some in Israel are courting the Fundamentalist Christians because they want support for their country and the building of the wall. Both have a radically different idea of the Messiah. The Fundi-Christians believe that their leader will destroy the Jewish Messiah and the Jewish orthodox people believe that their Messiah will prevail over Jesus. Two elements in bed in Zionism with contradictory outcomes. How crazy is that? As to the nonsense about Christian prayers at football games, Tar-heel's points are simplistic and naive. I agree with Joseph Campbell who says that Christianity is basically a pacifist religion which has been hi-jacked by fundamentalist crazies. Frank
