Well Earthling, in response to your kind enquiry into my favourite films I have to say that I like so many that it's difficult to put them into any kind of order but I can say with some certainty that there will nothing remotely sci fi like in my favourites...or anything with any rings in it for that matter....
Woody Allen would feature highly..Manhatten, Annie Hall....something by Neil Simon would pitch right up there...Barefoot in the park...California Suite...oooh....just thought of The Graduate....him in the church desperately shouting 'Elaine!!!' oh...and something in black and white where they all talk like 'thet' and are either 'terribly heppy' or 'terribly unheppy'....Celia Johnson floating around with her huge sad doe eyes and dahhhling Trevor being ever so stiff upper lipped and repressed and Rachmaninov pouuding away in the background to compound the misery of it all...Yep Brief Encounter......what an uplifting film that is.....
