Yeah, I talked to Jesse and knew him in his later years. He was outgoing and friendly. Quite an eccentric though. I think what brought him to the one-man band thing was originality and creativity, rather than any anti-social feelings.

I remember him belching at the end of harmonica solos and not thinking anything of it. One of these belches can be heard on the end of the Arhoolie recording of "Got A Hump In Your Back". The belch, though barely audible on the vinyl record, is loud and clear on the CD re-issue.

A rare moment for audiophiles.
