Two songs I wish I had written: Eric Bogle's "NO MAN'S LAND" (motorcycling in France in 1976 I came across a tiny roadside cemetery containing about two dozen graves, the average age of those that lie there was about 19 years - and I have just discovered the grave of my great uncle in Laventie, who was killed in 1915, aged 17) "HE WAS BEAUTIFUL" as sung by Cleo Laine accompanied by John Williams to the tune "Cavatina" (I first heard this song two days after the death of my fiance in a motorcycle accident in 1978)
