Shambles, The point that you overlook in your two responses to my last posting, is the fact that the Act explicitly lists all licencable entertainments. (i.e. Parliament has indeed told us what is covered by the act.) Nothing that is excluded from that list is licencable unless the act is amended at a later date to change that list. Circus is not in that list - so is not as such licencable. However, if the circus can be classed as a different licencable activity such as a play. I agree with you that the idea that the main aspect of any act in a circus muight be music or dancing is very hard to credit. If it is impossible to credit then it is impossible to credit that circus will need licenced premises under this Act. RichardP
