Obesity is dangerous to your long-term health - but I think people need to be careful with how they define it. The article said that women were advised to weigh between seven 1/2 and nine stone! I'm well aware that I'm very underweight for a small teenager, but I weigh eight stone. I would hate to see an "average sized" women try to weigh that little. (It's a cultural thing too, of course. My male friends tend to define any normal sized girl as "fat" if she shows a hint of a stomach.)
