Well I had a rather interesting evening, having played with my band for the local Morris dancers, in the carpark of a Chepstow pub we adjourned to the bar, hopefully to give the "locals" a bit of a jam-session and sing-song, and the buggers would not even turn off their piped music for us....so a mate and I went to a local working men's club on the way home (not to play, just to have a drink, because we are members) and in the lounge bar some awful female was screeching to "backing cd's" and no-one was listening, the club pays something in the order of £100 to be entertained thus, yet when I strolled in wearing my morris gear, black face, top hat, rag jacket and bells, everyone was immediately interested to find out where I had been and what I had been doing....what a shame that not enough people rebel against what they are "told" they must "have" when many, if given the opportunity, would rather hear "proper" stuff....
