GUEST,spike Camping at Whitby Festival (21) RE: Camping at Whitby Festival 11 May 04

If your thinking about Eskdale school, be warned that I was at that site last year, and after the first night, awoke to find 6 bikers and a transit van of another 4 people had erected their tents 6 inches from my caravans tow hitch, and being as someone had parked a car across the back of the caravan (fair enough) it meant I had to come down a 10ft bank and then back up, to talk to my friends on the side of my van! there then followed a night of drunken swearing, farting and general lager fuelled behaviour,(bit like the tap and spile when Rays been in all day!!) untill 4 a.m. A steward finally came and asked them to be quiet, and for some reason, they thought I was to blame obviously, cos the next day, a kind gent came up to me and pointed out that the jockey wheel was loose on the van. Yep the bastards had stolen the locking device, and thrown it down the field. Great, couldn't raise the van up to attach it to the landy when it was time to go!
Now at this point, I should explain that I am 6' 4" weigh 19st and am built like a brick out-house, I am also a biker of some 27 years!
My first reaction was to go and kick some butt, but being loathe to destroy people nowdays, went AGAIN to the stewards, and told them what was about to occur. They came and had another word, which made the situation even worse. Anyway, they were booked over the weekend, and there they stayed untill itwas time for them to go. The steward told me they had taken the numbers og their vehicles and would not allow them to book the next year!!!!!

You have been warned!
