I seem to remember that the song won a competition on either BBC Scoland or STV called "Song for Scotland" in the 70's or is that just my memory palying tricks again?
Glad you like the North West of Scotland folks. Although I'm now based in Skye I'm from Ullapool and cover the whole area as part of my job.
My favourite mountain is Suilven, pronounced "soolivan". It's about 25 miles north of Ullapool on the Lochinver road.
Anyway, back to the song; The Alexander Brothers did it on one of their LPs.
